A Day Without a Mexican (2004): really not as good as i had hoped. thought it would be a much more serious film, with some slight humor of course. instead it was basically a big joke. granted its an indi film, but still. there was a ton of news broadcasts in the film, but they were done like they were out of some disney channel teen show or something. at best, the quality and tone that was set was something like a very well done high school film department could put together. and talk about plot holes! for example, why did the mexican's disappear? did god do it, and if so, why them? are mexicans really the most oppressed and neglected group of people in the world? i tell you what, the only mexican i wish would disappear is that faggot greg sanchez jr. (my ex-step-dad for all that don't know). now that would be a good movie. don't see this one though.
its a nice and snowy day here in la la land. quite the surprise when i went out to my jeep this morning. of course we get all the snow the week i'm not going snowboarding though. just my luck i guess. but oh happy day yesterday. doesn't everyone just love valentine's day!!! well, as i mentioned yesterday, i'm not one of those people, but i'm all about getting presents! kim got me six feet season 1 on dvd. i've been waiting for freaking ever to get this!!! it was just too expensive for me to justify buying. and i got some tasty chocolates and a nice trip to the training table for a root beer float and burger. and if you must know, i got her nothing. she got an early gift when her wisdom teeth came out. got her season 1 of one tree hill, so that should count.
went to an internship meeting yesterday. i doubt i'll get the one they were offering. they go around to EVERY college and university in utah and have people apply. they said in the end, 4 people out of about 60-70 who apply will get the internship. good odds huh? plus, it would be in washington dc for all of the summer. kinda scary thinking about doing something like that, but imagine how fun that would be. i think i've decided that i'm gonna go ahead and apply and do the interview for it all. and if i don't get it, i'm probably going to look for more opportunities out in dc. this of course means i'll have to cram the classes i would have taken during summer into another semester, but it would be worth it.
a year used to seem like such a long time. kinda like as a child thinking adults were so dang big or that it would be impossible to fill up a 20 gig hard drive. now i long for that time when 1 year was an eternity to me. a year ago the law firm was doing our thing. can you believe that was a year ago? seemed like just a few months that it all happened. and soon it will be time to bust out the shorts again.
